Which students can apply?: 

People in need who are studying on a course of higher education and have lived for most of their life on Merseyside and still have a home there.
The trust concentrates on first-degree level courses; academic subjects are given preference. Some grants are given to students reading medicine who have already obtained another first degree.
Most awards are given for full-time study, although applicants who can only study part time because of family circumstances will be considered.

Typical Grants: 

Grants are single payments ranging from £50 to £300 to help with college or university fees, books, equipment, study trips and increasingly, with childcare, accommodation and travel.

How to apply:: 

On a form available from the correspondent. Applications should be made by those who have already started the relevant course and must be accompanied by a reference from the tutor. They should be submitted before the meetings held in February, July and November. Applications must include details of previous education, family circumstances, funding for the present course and the reason for seeking help.
